Stroke occurs when blood flow to the brain is cut off. When this happens, brain becomes deprived of oxygen, causing brain cells to die. Strokes are one of the most common causes of death, and a leading cause of preventable disability. In this TED-Ed video, Vaibhav Goswami explains what makes blood supply to the brain blocked in the first place, and what you can do to prevent it from happening.
