A hydrogen atom has less mass than the combined mass of the proton and electron that make it up. Weird, right? So how can something weigh less than the sum of its parts? Well, it all comes down to famous equation in physics, that is Einstein’s E = mc². In this episode of PBS Space Time, Gabe Perez-Giz explains what this famous equation really says.
THIS IS COOL. I WANT TO LEARN SOMETHING ELSE, TOO!
