Broken heart syndrome (also known as stress-induced cardiomyopathy or Takotsubo cardiomyopathy [TTC]) is the weakening of the heart. It has similar symptoms as that of the heart attack such as chest pain, shortness of breath and changes in heart rhythm. But, unlike heart attack that is caused by a blockage in one of the coronary arteries supplying the heart muscle, the cause of broken-heart syndrome is not exactly known. And yes, you can actually die from a broken heart.
