The Poison Garden in Alnwick Castle, Northumberland, England, is famous for being the world’s deadliest garden. Home to around 100 toxic plants – hemlock, laurel hedges, henbane, atropa belladonna, datura, aconitine, to name a few, it’s one of the most beautiful attractions of north England bringing in more than 600,000 visitors annually.

The garden is the brainchild of Jane Percy, the Duchess of Northumberland. It has around 95 killer plants, with more being added to the collection all the time. A lot of these plants are what you call cottage garden plants. They are very common and are grown in many people’s gardens.
