The result acquired from a countless of researches on climate change by NASA and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) confirms that 2014 was the Earth’s hottest year on record.
Earlier IPCC report, with skepticism overspread, leaked to the media revealed that human activity is almost certainly the cause of global warming and now evidence, backed by countless of researches, has shown that people are disrupting the climate by burning fossil fuels that release greenhouse gases into the air.
In the chronological record of climatology, 2014 stays ahead of 2010 as the warmest year on Earth in recorded history; and the 10 warmest years have all occurred since 1997, since records began in the 19th century.
Officials said record temperatures in 2014 were spread around the globe, including most of Europe stretching into northern Africa, the western United States, far eastern Russia into western Alaska, parts of interior South America, parts of eastern and western coastal Australia and elsewhere.

“While the ranking of individual years can be affected by chaotic weather patterns, the long-term trends are attributable to drivers of climate change that right now are dominated by human emissions of greenhouse gases,” said Gavin Schmidt, director of NASA’s Goddard Institute of Space Studies in New York.
If you are still skeptical, here is a graphic animation that shows the Earth’s warming climate, recorded in monthly measurements from land and sea over 135 years. Temperatures are displayed in degrees above or below the 20th-century average. Below is the screenshot that shows the surge of heat in the year 2014. [Bloomberg]

I’m not sure what worries me more, the warming temperatures or the people who refuse to acknowledge it’s happening…

Should worry about both. 🙂
