What you’re about to see is the most diverse form of life forms in terms of survival instinct. Many bacteria are known to survive on a variety of energy sources. For example: some bacteria are photosynthetic, they can make their own food with the help of sunlight, just like plants and subseafloor bacteria can survive by over-activating DNA repair and antibiotic target genes. However, these newly discovered electric bacteria utilize energy in its purest form unlike any other bacteria.
As reported in NewScientist, these bacteria are everywhere and they can easily be found by sticking an electrode in the ground, pumping electrons down it and they will find their way through the electrode. They eat and breathe electrons. The video shows how they connect to form wires.

Very cool. I can think of some great technical applications for this such as a living circuit board.
